If you’re reading this, thank you for taking the first step into serving God on the tech team at Villa Heights Christian Church! At every step of the way, you’ll receive training and mentorship as you learn the technology we use to help amplify God’s worship and Word.
Every Sunday, we have a 3-4 person team that runs the technology, and each person has an assigned role: projection, sound, livestream, and preferably a coordinator.

Projection techs help show our lyrics, sermon slides, videos, and plays music from Spotify opening and closing of service.

Sound techs ensure that instruments, vocalists, presenters, and media sound good mixed in-house. They make sure that source sound is at a good level for the livestream.

Livestream techs have a complex job. They manage cameras, aiming them and using our ATEM Mini Pro switcher to swap between them. Livestream techs are also responsible for starting and stopping the livestream, showing graphics when appropriate, and making sure lyrics are enabled online during songs.
Coordinators are an optional leadership position that helps direct services from comms. They are directly responsible for managing transitions and technical issues, as well as managing the livestream sound mix and interacting with the livestream chat. They also lead the Team Huddles before each service.
As you can see, all roles work closely with each other to make sure services run smoothly. When done well, people hear the Word clearly, sing freely, and are drawn closer to God.
